| LURES | Rare Creek Chub Beetle #3800 series in uncataloged silver flash finish with gold stenciled back and original double pearl spinners. Very rare.Price: $495 | | | REELS | Horton Meek No. 4 German Silver Casting Reel Having a dual grasp handle and sliding click and drag switches, this plain end cap version of the Meek #4 casting reel is stamped with serial number 7829 on the foot. In very good+ un-polished condition with some old line residue on the spool arbor and part way up the spool flanges (will clean).Price: $290 | | | RODS | Rare 9' Hawes Trout Rod Produced in Canterbury, CT by either Hiram Hawes or his son, Merritt, this 3/2 rod is all original. The bamboo shafts are rich mahogany color with 3 x 3 node spacing. It has blued ferrules, steel snake guides, brown wraps with 3 signature wraps above each male ferrule, and a straight handle that tapers down to the reel seat. The cork has been sanded but still has roughness from ridging. It has an agate stripper and a mahogany reel seat with blued cap & ring hardware stamped: "H.W. Hawes & Co., Makers, Canterbury, Conn." and on the back side is serial number: "A292". The ferrules have been cleaned and seat fully and tightly on this full-flexing, medium-action rod. All 4 sections are straight and full length with good varnish (showing only occasional bag marks). Someone has given the wraps an over-coat of varnish in the past to protect them. This collectible rod comes with the original brown bag and unmarked tube of the right vintage.
Due to the angle of the camera during photography, rod sections may appear longer or shorter than others due to a graduating effect, making a rod of equal length sections appear uneven. Please be sure to carefully read the description for any discrepancy in tip or section length before purchasing.
